On the strike of midnight an awesome display of fireworks can be seen in the skies above Paihia, Russell, Opua, Haruru and Waitangi – the fireworks are on a barge in the centre of the Bay and are an awesome way to celebrate the start of the New Year.
This is a family friendly event – no alcohol to be drink in a public place in Paihia 24/7 all year round.
