Cruz’n the Bayz

Nau mai haere mai ‘Cruz’n The Bayz’ is coming back for 8^th to 10^th March 2024 in the Bay of Islands.

Over 3 days we will gather and cruise Northland with like-minded classic/hot rod/muscle car and bike enthusiasts from all over NZ. Come join us as we travel through our local communities who are supporting us with music/entertainment, local cuisine and welcoming celebrations.

Cruising from Paihia, Kerikeri, Taipa, Kaikohe, Russell (via the car and walk on Ferries), and surrounding townships.

For those of you who arrive early on Thursday 7th March 2024 we will have a ‘Meet & Greet’ night at the Waitangi Golf Course, free bus to and from venue, entertainment, nibbles and bar to purchase drinks, see the itinerary for more details

CRUZ’N THE BAYS is a multi-location classic car and bike event, similar to the highly successful
Whangamata Beach Hop. Our unique, beautiful location, plus the advantage of close proximity
between towns within the Bay of Islands and mid-North, makes an event like Cruz’n The Bayz highly
attractive to car and bike owners from across Aotearoa. Northland has several single location car
meets, but no multi day/multi location events such as this. Each day will see the registered
participants cruise to different locations, where they will stop, allowing time for the public to come
and view the vehicles. Stops will be advertised in advance and have music / buskers on the footpaths
or park / venue. There will be time for participants to interact with spectators, grab something to eat
or drink in local establishments and enjoy the local music. We are not staying strictly to beach
locations, but also visiting interesting spots such as Kaikohe Pioneer Village. The event has a ‘rock n
roll’ theme which is popular amongst this audience, we aim to fill the Bay of I f Islands and mid-
North with colour, music and fun! CRUZ’N THE BAYZ will become a ‘must-do’ in the national classic
car event calendar for enthusiasts Our goals are to promote the Bay of Islands and surrounding
towns as a recognised destination for high quality events of this nature, work collaboratively with
local business associations, community groups, cafes, restaurants and musicians to build awareness
and attendance to benefit all while bringing an economic boost to Northland. We want to create an
event with ‘heart’. Welcoming everyone to enjoy the atmosphere and contributing back to our
communities with colour, music and fun!

Our committee are a committed bunch who volunteer their time and effort and are
enthusiastic for this great event to happen.  We are a non profit organisation who are keen
to bring an event such as this to Northland and passionate about our communities.
Our intention is to create an event that will only grow with each year and will boost the
economy for Northland businesses, communities and whanau.
We have chosen St John Ambulance Hato Hone as our beneficiary and will raise funds for
this much needed service.
