Located right next to the famous St Paul’s Rock walking track overlooking Whangaroa Harbour, this newly renovated barn (completed late 2025) combines comfort with unbeatable outdoor access.
Set on a 2.5-acre block, the Barn’s high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling cedar walls create an airy, open atmosphere. The ground floor features a modern, fully equipped kitchen and polished concrete floors, while the upstairs mezzanine serves as an open-plan sleeping and lounging hub. It sleeps two in the queen bed and up to another two people on comfortable sofa beds.
A combined bathroom/laundry means you’re completely self-contained. Fast, reliable internet and a workspace let you work remotely with a view. In summer, fire up the BBQ on the back patio or enjoy a picnic in the secluded garden area in summer. And in winter, a roaring fire heats the whole Barn.
The property boasts a large paddock and lawn area, offering plenty of space for kids and pets to burn off energy. The resident quail family, pheasants, and tuis are always around and in good weather, the night skies are incredibly clear.
Whangaroa is ideally located to let you explore the Bay of Islands and further north. It’s 35 minutes from Kerikeri, 10 minutes from Kaeo, 30 minutes from Mangonui, and 2.5 hours from Cape Reinga. A 10-minute walk from the Barn will get you to the harbour edge and the nearest beach (Tauranga Bay) is a 10-minute drive.
Whether you are here to hike St Paul’s or other nearby tracks, go fishing or simply relax in a beautiful setting, the Whangaroa Barn is a unique space surrounded by unforgettable scenery
