The Pacific Rally

From 2 till 4 May 2025 Island Cruising will hold their annual Pre-Departure gathering at the Bay of Islands Marina in Opua. This is a private event for the participants.

Island Cruising NZ provides resources for cruisers wanting to prepare for long coastal or offshore voyages. We run yacht cruising rallies around New Zealand and the islands of the South Pacific; namely Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu and New Caledonia. Our rallies are designed to allow sailors to cruise the islands aboard their own boats, or assist as crew on someone else’s boat. Although our rallies have typically attracted owners of sailing yachts, we welcome owners of offshore capable motor boats to join us too.

We provide education for sailors to prepare their vessels for sailing offshore, particularly if they’re new to offshore sailing, through our online cruising preparation workshops and members resources. We can provide assistance with Customs, Immigration and Biosecurity in and out of each country and we hold social events at various points along the way.

We also partner with reputable marine brands who offer advice and discounts to our members, and we produce a monthly magazine – Cruise News.
