Paihia Christmas Parade 2026 – The Circus Is In Town!

Get ready for one of the Bay of Islands’ most treasured Christmas traditions! The Paihia Christmas Parade returns on Friday 4 December 2026, bringing an evening of festive fun, creativity and community spirit to the heart of Paihia.

This year’s exciting theme is “The Circus Is In Town!”, so expect colourful floats, dazzling costumes, talented performers, and plenty of circus-inspired magic as the parade makes its way along Williams Road. From clowns and ringmasters to acrobats and community groups, it’s set to be an unforgettable celebration for all ages.

The festivities begin with free pre-parade entertainment from 4:30pm, including magicians, face painters and balloon twisters, before the parade steps off at 5:30pm. Keep an eye out for Santa Claus, who’ll make his much-loved appearance on his decorated sleigh, spreading Christmas cheer and treats along the way.

The event is free to attend, and Paihia’s cafés, restaurants and shops will be open throughout the evening, making it the perfect opportunity to enjoy a festive night out with whānau and friends.

Businesses and community groups wishing to enter a float can register by contacting the Business Bay of Islands organisers.
