Celebrate Matariki through art at He Kohinga Mā Te Katoa – A Collection For Everyone, a month-long exhibition showcasing the work of 15 talented artists from Te Tai Tokerau.
Running from 26 June to 25 July, this unique exhibition is hosted by The Providores Gallery with support from Explore Bay of Islands, bringing the much-loved island gallery to the mainland for a special Matariki celebration.
For one month, the Explore Bay of Islands Ticket Office, located between the pedestrian crossing and Mövenpick in Paihia, has been transformed into a vibrant pop-up art gallery. Visitors can explore an inspiring collection of works spanning a wide range of artistic disciplines, including painting, stone carving, mixed media, mosaic, textile art, printmaking, fine jewellery, and more.
The exhibition’s opening night received an enthusiastic response, with visitors praising both the quality and diversity of the artwork on display. Whether you’re a passionate art lover, searching for a unique piece to take home, or simply looking to experience the creativity of Northland’s artists, this exhibition is well worth a visit.
